About APtester

APtester (All Peripheral Tester) provides browser tools for observing keyboard events, mouse buttons, screen colors, speaker channels and microphone input without installing a separate application. It helps you reproduce a symptom and decide what to check next; it is not a hardware certification or calibration service.

Why We Built APtester

An unexpected repeated key, a missing mouse event or a silent channel can have more than one cause. A focused test area and an explanation of the result can help you separate browser or settings issues from symptoms that deserve further investigation.

The first-party diagnostic tools process their inputs locally in your browser. That boundary does not mean the whole website is free of third-party requests: advertising and page analytics are described in the Privacy policy.

Core Engineering Principles

  • Local diagnostics: APtester does not intentionally record or upload raw keystrokes, pointer event streams or microphone samples from its diagnostic tools. Avoid entering passwords or other sensitive text while testing.
  • No application installation: Tests use browser interfaces instead of installing a driver or extension. Availability varies with the browser, OS, permissions and device; reserved keys may not reach a web page.
  • Transparent boundaries: Event flags and audio levels are observations, not proof of hardware damage, USB polling, physical input latency or calibrated sound pressure. See the Methodology and limits.
  • Language access: Tool interfaces are offered in several languages. About, Contact, Privacy and Methodology are available in English, Indonesian and Spanish; availability is not a claim of native-language review.

Diagnostic Suite Overview

Keyboard Tester

ANSI 60%-100% layouts, rapid key-event interval flags for review, and a count of simultaneous keys received by the page.

Mouse Tester

Five button-event checks, scroll direction tracking, and rapid-click interval flags that are not a physical switch verdict.

Screen Tester

Five solid colors for visual pixel and lighting inspection, plus an estimate of browser animation-frame delivery.

Audio Diagnostics

Test left and right speaker channels; the frequency slider selects one tone at a time. The microphone meter shows an approximate level.

Editorial responsibility and corrections

The APtester project maintains the tool explanations alongside the implementation. The editorial check is to compare a claim with the event or audio calculation, state its limitations, and distinguish illustrative examples from measured device evidence. Translations or automated checks are not a substitute for an expert diagnosis or a native-language review.

Found a misleading statement or a step that does not match the controls? Use Contact and include the page URL, the quoted wording, browser version and a reproducible example. Corrections should change the explanation or fix the underlying issue, not promise a device passes a certification.
